Offering students and young graduates the opportunity to acquire experience in the heritage field

CCA administers the Young Canada Works (YCW) program for the archival community and the library* community.
Young Canada Works is funded by the Department of Canadian Heritage (PCH) in support of the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment and Skills Strategy.
CCA has been administering YCW for 26+ years.
Last year, 310+ students and interns were hired.
200+ happy employers in 2023.

All applications must be prepared online.
Once you will have completed your application, we suggest that you make a copy of it for your file.

Employers can now update their profiles and submit applications for 2024-2025.
Master account on the Young Canada Works interactive website.
You need only ONE (1) master account in order to apply to one or more delivery organization (CCA, CMA, FMD, and NTC). Please do not submit an application for the same position/job title to more than one delivery organization.

It will enable you to complete applications for Student Jobs (YCW in Heritage Organizations), as well as Internships for graduates (YCW at Building Careers in Heritage). You will be using this account to report on all stages of your project.

Travel Policy
The Young Canada Works Program may reimburse transportation, en route accommodation, and potential isolation costs incurred by participants who must relocate more than 125 km from their permanent residence to work at a YCW job site. Please note that funding assistance for travel is not guaranteed. Delivery Organizations reserve the right to reimburse eligible travel claims based on the most economical means of travel.
If your student or intern has eligible travel expenditures, submit the required documents to your YCW contact person via email. Please refer to the following documents regarding eligible and ineligible expenditures:
