Council of Provincial and Territorial Archivists
Established in 2006, the Council of Provincial and Territorial Archivists (CPTA) held its very first annual meeting in June 2007 in Kingston. The purpose of the Council is to ensure active and relevant participation by provincial and territorial archivists in the national archival network and to ensure a close working relationship with the Canadian Council of Archives. CPTA meets twice per year, providing a venue for the discussion of issues and sharing of ideas particularly relevant to provincial and territorial archivists. The Council members also meet with the Librarian and Archivist of Canada at the National, Provincial, and Territorial Archivists Conference (NPTAC) which is also held twice per year, once in person during the week of the Association of Canadian Archivists Conference and again via teleconference in the fall.
